Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Educational Research Insights (Jurnal Wawasan Penelitian Pendidikan) is committed to upholding academic integrity. Therefore, all forms of plagiarism are strictly rejected.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as the quotation or appropriation of another person's words, sentences, ideas, or findings without providing adequate credit or attribution, thereby claiming it as one's own work. This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Direct Plagiarism: Copying word-for-word without quotation marks and source citation.
-
Paraphrasing Plagiarism: Changing the sentence structure without citing the original source.
-
Idea Plagiarism: Using another person's idea or concept without permission or acknowledgment.
-
Duplicate Publication: Republishing one's own work that has already been published elsewhere without a clear disclaimer.
2. Preventive Measures
Before the review process, all manuscripts will be checked for originality using plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate). The maximum allowed similarity tolerance is 20%, provided that the overlapping parts are properly cited and sourced quotations.
3. Sanctions for Plagiarism
Manuscripts proven to have committed plagiarism will be subject to progressive sanctions based on the level of infringement:
-
At the Submission Stage: The manuscript will be automatically rejected.
-
Post-Publication Stage: Published articles will be retracted from the journal's website. The retraction will be announced via a Notice of Retraction explaining the reason for the withdrawal. All involved authors will be blacklisted and prohibited from submitting manuscripts for a specified period.
